Munck Carter Announces Second Jury Trial Win in Three Weeks

December 16, 2009

DALLAS – The Texas-based litigation firm of Munck Carter, LLP, announced a $1.45 million verdict for firm client Touch Tell, Inc. dba Touch Tell Communication, after a four-day jury trial before Judge Carlos Cortez of the 44th Judicial District Court in Dallas (Touch Tell, Inc. dba Touch Tell Communication v. V3 Global, Inc., Sameer Mohan, and S.K. Mohan, Cause No. DC-05-01575-B).

Touch Tell, one of the nation’s largest distributors of prepaid telephone calling cards, sued V3 Global, Inc. for breach of contract, and sued S.K. Mohan and Sameer Mohan for breach of their guarantees.  The jury deliberated for less than an hour before awarding Touch Tell the full amount it sought.

“Our client is extremely pleased with the jury’s verdict,” says J. Robert Arnett II, a senior litigation partner at Munck Carter and lead counsel for Touch Tell.  “We could not be happier for our client or prouder of our trial team.”

Munck Carter name partner E. Leon Carter and attorney Ryan M.T. Allen also represented Touch Tell at trial.

This is the second successful jury verdict in three weeks for Carter and Arnett, who obtained a complete defense win in a patent infringement case in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on November 19, 2009 (Fiber Systems International, Inc. v. Applied Optical Systems, Inc., Case No. 2:06-CV-473-TJW-CE).

“These results are a testament to the great support we have at Munck Carter,” says Carter, who was lead counsel in the patent infringement case.  “As trial lawyers, it is a pleasure to try cases with the teamwork and support we have, from our partners in our patent practice to our associates, to our paralegals and staff.”
