Eric Zyla is a principal attorney practicing in the firm’s intellectual property law group. Eric focuses his practice on counseling related to patent prosecution, intellectual property due diligence, infringement, licensing, and opinions as well as representation before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Eric brings over 30 years of diverse expertise in electrical and computing technologies including telecommunications, networking, cloud storage, microprocessors, semiconductors, and computer systems. He has honed proficiency as an engineer and as an attorney at national law firms, notable boutiques, in-house legal departments, and entrepreneurial ventures.
Eric earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. Prior to joining MWM, Eric served as in-house IP counsel for a diverse group of Fortune 500 companies including a financial services company, a major foreign investment bank, a major mobile device manufacturer, and two major pharmaceutical firms. His international experiences make him a valuable asset to clients and foreign associates alike, with fluency in English, German and French.
