
Keith D. Harden
Attorney Bio
Keith D. Harden is an associate, practicing in the technology/ intellectual property law group. Keith is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney focusing his practice on patent and trademark matters, including patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, as well as related matters such as post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
As a law student, Keith worked as an extern at the SMU Office of Legal Affairs where he assisted the Office with legal research and creating solutions to issues particular to University law. He further focused his studies on intellectual property law, taking multiple intellectual property courses such as courses in patent law, patent prosecution, and intellectual property licensing.
Keith was also a member of the SMU Science and Technology Law Review. He served his first year on the Law Review as a staff member, writing a case note and comment on current intellectual property issues. He served his second year as technology director, wherein he focused on certain technological matters, such as constructing a new website for the SMU Science and Technology Law Review.
Before passing the Texas Bar, Keith worked for over two years as an intellectual property legal assistant, gaining valuable experience handling matters for clients, including assisting with the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications, researching legal issues facing clients, collaborating on intellectual property portfolio management and due diligence, and providing procedural support during post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
