Mario J. Donato is a principal attorney in the intellectual property group. He has a broad range of legal experience in IP law, including domestic and international IP procurement and enforcement, portfolio management, patent infringement, and litigation (enforcement and defense), licensing, opinions, mergers and acquisitions involving IP, as well as counseling in patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
Mario has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a wide variety of technologies, including memory devices and applications, computer architecture, semiconductors, software applications, control systems, and telecommunication systems and devices.
In his legal career, Mario worked as director of Intellectual Property & Licensing, U.S. & Asia, for STMicroelectronics, Inc., a patent attorney for Motorola Inc., and an IP attorney for Caterpillar Inc. Prior to his legal career, Mario worked for several years as an electrical engineer with Hughes Aircraft Company.
