Michael was an officer in the United States Navy Reserve and received numerous commendations, including those for his actions during active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Michael G. Rodriguez is the managing partner of MWM’s Austin office and a member of the intellectual property group. He represents clients in patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, domestic and international patent procurement and enforcement, and analysis of infringement and invalidity in support of litigation. Michael also counsels clients on copyright and trademark enforcement and compliance and prosecuting and defending reexaminations in a variety of technical areas including power electronic devices, computer software, and semiconductor devices. His clients work in construction, electronics, retail, restaurant, telecommunications, pet care, vehicle manufacturing, energy, and various other industries. Prior to attending law school, Michael worked as a registered professional engineer with TXU, with senior engineering status.
Michael served as an officer in the United States Navy Reserve, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He has received numerous commendations, including those for his actions during active duty in Iraq from July 2005 to April 2006 and Afghanistan from January 2011 to September 2011.
