Business Development Manager
Munck Wilson Mandala is a mid-sized law firm headquartered in Dallas with seven satellite offices and 90+ attorneys. We hire people who will contribute to our professional reputation, enhance client relationships, and share in our success. The business development manager will lead marketing/business development strategies and projects. This position will provide logistical support as needed for members of the law firm’s executive committee and CFO. Responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the managing partner, marketing department head, and firm management to develop and execute business development efforts that support the firm’s strategic growth.
- Works with senior associates and partners to create business development plans and support their business development efforts.
- Organizes practice group meetings, develops and executes business development efforts that support practice area growth, reports to groups on initiatives and results, and manages updates to group contact lists in CRM.
- Works with office managing partners on professional development and increasing visibility in the local markets (Dallas, Austin, Houston, Waco, LA, and Florida).
- Manages the firm’s pitches, proposals, and responses to RFPs, and related research and follow-up.
- Supports efforts to track and organize the firm’s industry experience and representative matters for use in marketing collateral, website content, pitches, and proposals.
- Gathers intelligence on emerging markets and industry trends to provide attorneys with an understanding of the competitive landscape and to position the firm for increased effectiveness in winning new business.
- Evaluates firm clients to identify opportunities for cross-selling across practice areas and offices.
- Tracks client development activities and new business development efforts in CRM.
- Assists with lateral partner integration, including transition letters, attorney bio drafting, client data integration, and onboarding relationships inside the firm.
- Evaluates trade association memberships/sponsorship opportunities and other endeavors.
- Performs other duties as identified by the management team and/or CFO.
Requirements

- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities and personalities.
- Bachelor’s degree required, a major in marketing or business preferred, advanced degree a plus.
- 5+ years of business development and marketing experience in a professional services environment, legal or high-tech preferred.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with research tools such as Westlaw Monitor Suite.
- Experience with CRM such as InterAction or Pipeline Analytics is a plus.
