Munck Wilson Mandala Welcomes Litigation Attorney Kathy Kottos
Munck Wilson Mandala added litigation attorney Kathy L. Kottos as senior counsel. Kottos brings more than 12 years of litigation experience to the firm’s complex litigation and dispute resolution practice. She previously worked as of counsel at Akerman LLP, and as an associate at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, both in Chicago.
Kottos represents clients in a wide variety of litigation disputes, including complex commercial litigation involving insurance and health care fraud and Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (“RICO”) matters. She has significant experience handling a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including representing insurance companies in several multi-million-dollar RICO and fraud actions against healthcare providers, counseling insurers on fraud prevention and best claims-handling practices, and other complex commercial disputes.
Kottos received her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School, where she graduated magna cum laude, was a member of the law school’s Order of the Coif and served as the lead articles editor of the John Marshall Law Review. She holds a B.A. in economics from DePaul University, where she graduated cum laude. Her addition expands MWM’s highly regarded litigation team which was listed as a litigation department of the year finalist in 2018 and received two Texas Hall of Fame Verdict honors in 2019.
