Munck Wilson Mandala’s Kelly Chen Selected for Leadership Dallas
Dallas, TX, Aug. 24, 2016 —– Kelly Chen, a senior associate in the litigation section of Munck Wilson Mandala, has been selected to participate in the respected Leadership Dallas program, class of 2017. Chen represents clients in commercial and intellectual property disputes and she is one of five Munck Wilson attorneys who have participated in Leadership Dallas.
Leadership Dallas is the Dallas Regional Chamber’s leadership development program, aimed at providing the City of Dallas with diverse leaders who are prepared and committed to serve as catalysts of positive change. Founded in 1975, Leadership Dallas selects 55 individuals to participate in a ten-month educational program that includes a two-day retreat, nine monthly day-long sessions, monthly assignments, and a class project. Chen will begin her Leadership Dallas program with a retreat in early September.
Chen and her class will receive in-depth exposure to critical issues facing the community that include human services, government and politics, economic development, health care, criminal justice, education, and arts and culture. The program enables participants to develop their leadership capacities, build strong relationships, and prepare themselves for the challenges of the years to come.
Chen has studied abroad in Shanghai, China, and she speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. Prior to Munck Wilson, Chen worked as a certified public accountant for Deloitte and in the legal department of a large waste management company overseas. She received her J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law and she graduated cum laude with majors in accounting and business from the University of Texas in Austin.
