Patrick W. Whitaker is a principal attorney in the litigation and large loss property subrogation groups. His experience includes representing clients in disputes involving fires and explosions, commercial/residential roofing failures, catastrophic losses, construction defects, fire suppression system failures, industrial equipment failures, product liability, and general negligence matters involving mechanical/electrical/plumbing professionals. Patrick is a member of the MWM team that is co-lead counsel for the subrogation industry in the multi-district litigation matter that is born out of Winter Storm Uri.  He has successfully litigated, tried, arbitrated, and mediated cases throughout the United States.

Representative Matters

  • Broad experience in successfully litigating and mediating property loss subrogation cases throughout the United States;
  • $1,375,000 settlement in a residential construction defect matter arising out of a fire that was caused by an improperly installed outdoor grill;
  • $1,365,000 settlement against a plumbing contractor for the negligent repair of a water distribution line;
  • $725,000 recovery in a product defect/negligent repair matter that resulted in the explosion of an industrial dog food manufacturing oven.
