Litigation Legal Assistant - Los Angeles

The Los Angeles office of Munck Wilson Mandala is seeking an experienced litigation legal secretary/assistant to join their recently opened and rapidly growing Century City office.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Playing an active role in helping the firm to provide legal services of the highest caliber to our clients;

• Actively participating in document collection and production, deposition preparation, hearings and trials;

• Collecting, organizing and maintaining documents and files related to legal matters, including documents received from the client, opposing parties or other sources;

• Proofreading legal documents;

• Handling confidential and sensitive firm and/or client information;

• Ensuring filings are in compliance with California court rules and e-filing documents in both state and federal courts; 

• Managing calendars and attorney dockets, and assisting in meeting deadlines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation legal assistant experience in a large or mid-size law firm;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

• The ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at once;

• The initiative to problem-solve;

• The capacity to meet strict deadlines;

• A team-oriented mindset;

• Proficiency using computer software and the internet, including proficiency in Table of Contents, Table of Authorities, and brief formatting; and

• The flexibility to work overtime if needed.

  • Fluent in Korean
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records

Munck Wilson Mandala is currently seeking a subrogation litigation legal assistant for its Dallas office to support as many as four busy attorneys and/or paralegals in a highly collaborative working environment. Litigation Paralegal

Our Firm is currently in the process of recruiting an experienced Litigation Paralegal. This position will provide support for busy litigation attorneys in a highly collaborative working environment. Primary Responsibilities
  • Draft correspondence to potential targets, attorneys, courts, third parties, etc.
  • Draft and file pleadings.
  • Docketing daily Trial schedules and deadlines.
  • Prepare initial drafts of discovery to propound and discovery responses.
  • Manual and electronic document reviews.
  • Prepare hearing, deposition, mediation and trial notebooks and exhibits.
  • Perform legal research.
  • Maintain deadlines calendar.
  • Schedule meditations, depositions, schedule court reporters/videographer, conference calls, etc.
  • File and serve pleadings.
  • E-filing on the state and federal level.
Experience & Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years commercial and patent litigation trial experience.
  • The candidate will have the ability to work in a high volume, high energy environment.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to provide excellent client/customer service.
  • Qualified candidates must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and E-Filing. Must exhibit strong typing skills and have the ability to learn and quickly become proficient in new computer software programs.
  • Available for some overtime is required.
  • Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication, strong proofreading and organizational skills. Candidates should also be detail oriented, be able to multi-task and have the knowledge and skills necessary to prioritize the workload independently.
