Dallas, TX, Jan. 1, 2017 – Munck Wilson Mandala elected Kelly Chen and Jacob “Jake” LaCombe as new partners of the firm, effective January 1, 2017. Ms. Chen is a member of MWM’s litigation section, and Mr. LaCombe is a member of MWM’s intellectual property section.

Ms. Chen represents clients in commercial and intellectual property disputes and is actively involved in legal and business organizations. She has served as director and secretary for the Dallas Asian-American Bar Association and is a member of the 2017 Leadership Dallas Class.
Ms. Chen has studied abroad in Shanghai, China, and she speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. She received her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and studied accounting and business at the University of Texas in Austin, graduating cum laude in business and earning a Master in Professional Accounting.
Mr. LaCombe represents clients in patent preparation and prosecution, patent litigation and intellectual property licensing. He is a committed IP attorney and has been a key member of the team of lawyers representing one of MWM’s largest clients, a global electronics company.
Mr. LaCombe serves as a mentor for the Dallas Entrepreneur Center and The Werx in McKinney, Texas. He received his J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and he graduated cum laude with a major in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
