Munck Wilson Mandala welcomes commercial litigation associate Ursula Smith to the firm’s South Austin office. Smith joins MWM from Siri and Glimstad, LLP, where she represented clients in class action, employment, privacy, and civil rights litigation.
Smith brings more than nine years of unique legal experience to MWM. A Navy veteran, she served as an intelligence officer stationed at U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Six, and the Defense Intelligence Agency before attending law school. Following law school, Smith worked in various capacities for the Navy Judge Advocate General Corps, where she specialized in intelligence law and policy, and complex national security litigation. After leaving the Navy, Smith was an assistant United States attorney with the Department of Justice in the Southern District of Texas.
Smith received her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, and her Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, summa cum laude, from the University at Albany, State University of New York. She also graduated with Distinction from the U.S. Naval War College in 2018. She is licensed to practice law in Texas, Virginia, and Massachusetts.
