Ursula Smith is an associate in commercial litigation and employment and labor. She represents clients in employment and civil rights litigation and class actions involving consumer protection, privacy violations, and data breaches. Ursula started her career in the U.S. Navy, serving both domestically and abroad. She began her legal career in the Pearl Harbor Navy Legal Office, advising military clients on various personal issues, including family law, tax law, and consumer protection. She then joined the National Security Litigation Division, gaining valuable experience prosecuting and investigating complex national security law cases. She also served as legal and policy advisor for the Brooks Center for Maritime Engagement at the Office of Naval Intelligence, coordinating heavily with many different legal counterparts across the intelligence community. 

Ursula worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Texas and focused on immigration, human trafficking, narcotics, and firearms cases. Prior to joining MWM, Ursula represented clients in employment litigation, civil rights litigation, and class actions as an associate at Siri & Glimstad, LLP. 

Ursula received her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and she earned her Bachelor of Science in mathematics, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Albany, State University of New York. During her Navy years, Ursula graduated with distinction from the prestigious U.S. Naval War College.
