Munck Wilson Mandala welcomes litigation partner Eve Brackmann to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Brackmann has an established record of success representing clients in various litigation and business disputes as well as a stellar record on appeal. In her 18-year legal career, Brackmann has developed a robust practice, working in a variety of reputable law firms in the Los Angeles region. She joins MWM from Stuart Kane LLP in Orange County, where she was a partner for many years.

“Eve is an outstanding addition to our team,” said Jenifer Wallis, co-managing partner of MWM’s LA office.  “Her impressive trial experience and successes in and out of court strengthen our litigation bench and she is deeply embedded in the LA and Orange County real estate and legal communities.”

“Eve is a force of nature and will no doubt fortify the firm’s strengths in real estate and commercial litigation,” said co-chair of the litigation practice Jenny Martinez.  “Adding a partner of her caliber is a big win for our firm, and we are looking forward to working with her.”

Brackmann serves as lead counsel in jury and bench trials in both state and federal courts and she is well known for her effective private arbitration work. Her real estate practice covers high-stakes litigation for shopping center and other commercial real estate owners and tenants, big-box retailers, investors, developers, casinos, mortgage companies, logistics companies, manufacturers, cannabis-sector businesses, and more. Her business litigation practice covers disputes in venture partnerships, manufacturer and distributor disputes, contract-related lawsuits, fiduciary duty, unfair competition, defamation, trade secret, and anti-SLAPP lawsuits.  Eve also has significant experience with high-stakes Homeowners’ Association disputes, as well as cannabis-related matters.

In the community, Brackmann serves as director at large on the board of directors for the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) as well as co-chair of the OCBA Mentoring Committee, a member of Litigation and Real Property law sections in both the Los Angeles and Orange County Bar Associations, the Cannabis Law section of the Los Angeles Bar Association, and she has served for over a decade as an arbitrator on the OCBA’s Mandatory Fee Arbitration Panel.

Brackmann also serves as director on the board of the University of San Diego Law School Alumni Association/Orange County Chapter, and she is a member of the University of Southern California Alumni Association. Other organizations to which Eve devotes significant time include California Women Lawyers, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the American Bar Association, and the National Order of the Barristers.  She is also a longstanding member of the Banyard Inn of Court (Master Bencher/Barrister).

Brackmann is frequently honored for her legal and pro bono work. She has been named a Best Lawyer in America consecutively since 2018 and a Southern California Super Lawyer consecutively since 2016. Los Angeles Magazine named her a Top Women Lawyer and she was named among the AmLaw Pro Bono Top 100 for her representation of a victim of a notorious worldwide cult. She also does pro bono work serving the Orange County Veterans’ Legal Institute and the Orange County Public Law Center.

A frequent contributor to legal and real estate law publications, Brackmann served for several years as Stuart Kane’s leading contributor to the annual World Bank “Doing Business” report on real property and she has published articles in ICSC’s Shopping Center Law and Strategy, as well as the Orange County Business Journal.

Brackmann received her J.D. from the University of San Diego and her B.A. in Biology and Philosophy from the University of Southern California. Her addition to the LA office brings the female partner headcount in that office to 44 percent.

“Eve is a highly regarded lawyer in the LA and Orange County market, and we are looking forward to working with her as she continues the next phase of her legal career at Munck Wilson Mandala,” said managing partner William A. Munck. “Her leadership and path blazing mentality blend well with our firm’s culture.”
