Munck Wilson Mandala, a leading tech-focused law firm, welcomes new partner Jenifer Wallis.  Wallis brings more than 14 years of legal experience to the firm and joins a team of more than 70 attorneys representing businesses in three of the fastest growing tech economies in the U.S. – Austin, Dallas, and Los Angeles.  Wallis previously practiced as a partner and co-leader of the IP group at Manning and Kass, Ellrod, Ramirez, Trestor, PC.

“We were extremely impressed with Jenifer’s experience in intellectual property, complex litigation and entertainment,” said MWM’s managing partner William A. Munck.  “She is a perfect fit for the projected expansion of our firm in LA and she will complement the work of our managing partner Gary Hecker.”

“I am looking forward to working with Jenifer,” said Hecker.  “We have an established IP, technology and entertainment practice and we are fortunate to add a skilled partner who can take the lead on complex litigation cases in this market.”

The addition of Wallis strengthens MWM’s bench in the LA market and further enhances the firm’s robust IP legal services.  Her unique practice positions her to represent clients in business litigation and entertainment law.   In business litigation, Wallis has represented clients as the lead chair in trade secret, trademark, and copyright infringement lawsuits in state and federal courts.  She routinely handles trademark and copyright infringement actions, and she serves as general counsel to large and small companies, advising them on IP portfolios and other matters.

In entertainment law, Wallis acts as general counsel to production companies, negotiating with networks on their behalf, and drafting all necessary talent agreements, location agreements, production schedules, and other legal matters.  Jenifer has been the legal architect in the complicated company structure of groundbreaking productions.

Wallis practiced law at a private law firm in Alabama before opening her own firm in 2010.  She maintained her own firm through 2014 before relocating to Los Angeles.  She received her J.D. from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law where she was on the dean’s list and a member of the National Trial Team. Wallis also holds an M.P.H. and B.A. in English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Established in the late ‘90s, MWM’s growth has been driven by its focus on legal services needed by technology companies and entrepreneurs.  This focus has paid off as the firm has grown into a prosperous legal hub for technology companies and for companies looking to bolster their businesses through corporate mergers and acquisitions in LA, Dallas, and Austin.

MWM’s LA office is led by Hecker, an award-winning IP and entertainment lawyer who brings more than three decades of legal experience in intellectual property, complex litigation of patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and rights of publicity, C-suite counseling, and IP licensing. His clients have included many leading technology and entertainment companies, industry luminaries and Fortune 500 companies, such as Apple, Pixar, Visa, ADP, Mark Burnett Productions, Barefoot Sound, The Women’s Conference, Young Hollywood, USC, and TowerJazz Semiconductor.
