Munck Wilson Mandala’s Jenifer Wallis was named chair of the entertainment practice and will lead the practice from the firm’s Los Angeles office.  Versatile in her practice, Wallis serves both technology and entertainment clients locally and nationally and she is deeply committed to advancing MWM’s brand and involvement in the business and civic community of the Southern California region.  Wallis will be leading efforts in business development, mentoring, marketing strategies, and building new client relationships.

Bringing more than 15 years of legal experience, Wallis represents clients in a wide variety of business litigation and entertainment matters.  In business litigation, she has represented clients as the lead chair in trade secret, trademark, and copyright infringement lawsuits in state and federal courts.  She routinely handles trademark and copyright infringement actions, and she serves as general counsel to large and small companies, advising them on IP portfolios and other matters.

In entertainment law, Wallis acts as general counsel to production companies, negotiating with networks on their behalf, and drafting all necessary talent agreements, location agreements, production schedules, and other legal matters.  Wallis has been the legal architect in the complicated company structure of groundbreaking productions.

“We have been extremely impressed with Jenifer’s experience in IP, litigation, and entertainment,” said MWM’s managing partner William A. Munck.  “She is committed to expanding the firm’s services in LA and advancing our community and civic involvement through her various board positions.”

Wallis practiced law at a private law firm in Alabama before opening her own firm in 2010.  She maintained her own firm through 2014 before relocating to Los Angeles.  She is a founding member of the LA Chapter of Chief, a private membership network focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders.  She is also a member of Provisors LA, a network of trusted business advisors, and she serves on the board of directors for Charlie’s Acres, an organization dedicated to the care of rescued farm animals.

Wallis received her J.D. from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law where she was on the dean’s list and a member of the National Trial Team. Wallis also holds an M.P.H. and B.A. in English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.   She is honored as a Southern California Rising Star by Thomson Reuters and she was listed among the finalists nominated for Top Women Attorneys in the Los Angeles Business Journal.
