Munck Wilson Mandala’s Jordan Strauss was honored as a Lawyer on the Rise among attorneys recognized by Texas Lawyer’s 2021 Texas Legal Excellence Awards. Winners will be profiled in the Jan./Feb. 2022 issue of Texas Lawyer magazine. Strauss is among a select group of lawyers under the age of 40 who have demonstrated excellence and influence in their practice.
As part of the MWM team that earned the title of Litigation Department of the Year in 2020, Strauss handles complex advocacy and argument for high-stakes patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and other IP-related matters. In her nine-plus years with MWM, she has represented some of the firm’s largest clients in high-stakes and hotly contested litigation matters, including playing key roles at trials resulting in multi-million-dollar jury verdicts, and the defense of several multi-million verdicts on appeal. Strauss also plays a pivotal role in mentoring the summer associates at MWM and oversees MWM’s summer program for the litigation department.
In the community, Strauss is in her fourth year as a member of the Genesis Alliance board of directors. Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support focuses on giving women in abusive situations a way out. The Genesis Women’s Alliance is composed of over 600 women who support the mission to end family violence. As a board member, Strauss takes part in volunteering, community awareness, education, and victim advocacy.
Strauss graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in political science from Southern Methodist University, receiving the Ora Nixon Arnold Award in Outstanding Academic Achievement as the highest-ranking political science graduate. She received her J.D., graduating magna cum laude, from the SMU Dedman School of Law where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Strauss is recognized annually as a Texas Rising Star and a Best Lawyers Ones to Watch.
