Munck Wilson Mandala is currently seeking a litigation legal assistant for its growing Los Angeles office located in the heart of Century City to effectively support as many as four busy attorneys and/or paralegals in a highly collaborative working environment. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of litigation legal assistant or secretarial experience with significant exposure to complex commercial, intellectual property, real estate and/or labor and employment litigation in a mid to large-sized law firm.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing, finalizing and filing documents (i.e., declarations, power of attorneys, assignments, transmittals, extensions of time, information disclosure statements, etc.)
  • Preparing and finalizing client correspondence; maintaining attorney docket
  • Handling legal assistant and administrative tasks including document preparation, time entry, expense reimbursement, telephone contact, travel arrangements and calendar maintenance
  • Handling administrative confidential/sensitive firm and/or client information and providing excellent client service

Qualified candidates must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, iManage, e-filing, styles and brief formatting.  Candidate should have experience with federal and state e-filing, trial preparation, Table of Contents, and Table of Authorities. Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication, proofreading, and organizational skills. Candidates should also be detail-oriented, be able to multitask and prioritize the workload independently, have great follow up and follow through skills, and be comfortable working in a high-volume, high-energy environment. The position is on-site five days a week. Availability for some overtime is required as needed.

Munck Wilson Mandala is looking for a front desk receptionist for its Los Angeles office located in Century City. The ideal candidate is a polished professional who will interact with clients and be the first point of contact for visitors at the firm. Additional administrative duties will be performed as required (i.e. organization of inbound and outbound mail, administrative work, and general clerical support). Hours are 8:30 to 5:30. Prior office work exposure and Excel, Outlook and Word proficiency are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner
  • Monitor and send all voicemails and incoming fax to appropriate individuals
  • Distribute mail
  • Sign all visitors in and contact appropriate parties
  • Input work orders for building maintenance
  • Schedule conference rooms as needed
  • Maintain incoming and outgoing deliveries

Munck Wilson Mandala, LLP is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to join the firm’s growing Los Angeles office located in Century City. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of California state and federal litigation experience in a mid to large size law firm supporting complex commercial, real estate, entertainment, employment, and intellectual property litigation matters. This position is primarily in office with flexibility to work remotely as appropriate based on assignments and business needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of litigation support and case management from inception of case to trial, settlement, or dismissal
  • Calculate, calendar, and docket all litigation deadlines and due dates
  • Create and maintain hearing, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation task lists
  • Client document collection, organization, and review
  • Draft and prepare discovery requests and responses
  • Manage document productions and e-Discovery
  • Document analysis and redaction of privileged documents
  • Retrieval and organization of exhibits for court filings
  • Legal research under attorney supervision
  • Summarize depositions
  • Trial preparation and attendance
  • Research procedural requirements for various jurisdictions and courts
  • Maintain effective communication with firm attorneys and staff, clients, courts, and external vendors
  • State and federal ECF filings as needed
  • Assist attorneys with various projects as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree
  • At least five years of paralegal experience managing and supporting complex litigation matters in both state and federal courts in California, with paralegal certification preferred
  • Proficiency with e-discovery and e-discovery platform administration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously

The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000 – $130,000. The salary range for this position applies to paralegals in California and based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors, as permitted by law. Relevant factors include (without limitation) an individual’s experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, and business and organizational needs.

Munck Wilson Mandala is looking to add a litigation paralegal to its busy subrogation practice in its Dallas office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of paralegal experience in a fast paced, high volume commercial litigation practice with insurance defense, large property loss subrogation or plaintiff's experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for intake and case management of property subrogation claims, providing exceptional client service.
  • Maintain roster of insurance claims representatives, investigators, experts/consultants, and other interested parties.
  • Assist with the preparation of assigned depositions, hearings, mediations and trials.
  • Draft and e-file pleadings, including motions, complaints, notices, etc.
  • Monitor case status, track updates, and appearances, providing regular updates to both Attorneys and Clients.
  • Assist with discovery, including gathering evidence, obtaining documents, and performing legal and factual research.
  • Assist with document production, including organizing documents, performing bates-stamping, creating and maintaining privilege logs, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents and maintaining exhibits.
  • Attend client expert meetings, court appearances, and depositions, digesting and drafting concise and accurate summaries, and evaluating damaged documents.
  • Calendaring depositions, deadlines, hearings, and meetings.
