Munck Wilson Mandala announced that David G. Henry, managing partner of the firm’s Waco office, will expand his presence in the firm’s Austin and Houston offices to further strengthen client service and regional collaboration across Texas.
Effective this month, Henry will schedule regular travel to Austin and Houston, increasing accessibility to clients and attorneys in two of the state’s most active legal markets. He will continue leading the Waco office while supporting growth and integration across Central and Southeast Texas.
Henry’s expanded role follows his recent recognition as Lawyer of the Year at the Western District of Texas’ 2026 Central Texas Bench Bar Conference. The honor, known as the J. Stephen Ravel Award, was presented Feb. 19 in Austin. Selected by a panel of federal judges and practitioners, the award recognizes a lawyer practicing before the federal courts who exemplifies professionalism, integrity, and a positive spirit.

A registered patent attorney, Henry has spent much of his career in Waco, where he has taught patent law and litigation at Baylor Law School since 1994 and teaches IP principles through the Entrepreneurship Program at Hankamer School of Business. He also serves as a director for the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s licensed IP clinic program at Baylor and is a frequent CLE presenter nationwide.
Combining his IP expertise with a passion for aviation, Henry has succeeded in building an international practice grounded in face-to-face client service — proving, as he often says, that geography is never an issue. His expansion into the Austin and Houston markets will benefit from his status as an aircraft owner living in Waco.
