Jane is a creative, problem-solving litigator with extensive experience in entertainment, music, intellectual property, data privacy, commercial, and real estate law.

As a litigator, she has represented clients of all sizes in a wide range of disputes obtaining summary judgment, arbitration awards, and successful settlements in intellectual property, product liability, personal injury, employment, and real estate matters. She has managed all stages of litigation for trademark and copyright infringement suits for large portfolios held by music festivals, sports teams, and jewelry designers. In addition to her litigation work, she provides legal counsel to musicians and influencers on entertainment agreements and businesses on compliance with emerging privacy legislation since the inception of California’s CCPA.

A lifelong learner and teacher, she is an adjunct professor in USC’s Music Industry program teaching an undergraduate course that covers copyright law, music industry best practices, record deals, and marketing regulations. Jane enjoys speaking and writing about legal issues in entertainment, social media, and privacy as well as the ethics and inclusion issues woven into those industries.

Before Jane became a lawyer, she owned her own consulting company that worked with musicians, content creators, and music festivals to develop their brand and operations both online and in the live event setting. As a former business owner and marketer, she considers the broader business and brand impacts of every legal decision and advises clients accordingly.

Jane is a certified CIPP-US Data Privacy Professional. She currently serves on the Management Council for the Junior League of Los Angeles as Development Vice President-Elect and the Board of Deacons at San Marino Community Church.

  • Drafted motions resulting in the successful removal of conservator and termination of conservatorship for a high profile conservatee
  • Wrote UDRP arbitration complaints to successfully recover dozens of domain names infringing on famous music festival trademarks
  • Obtained defense summary judgment for an international transportation system manufacturer in product and premises liability case
  • Obtained defense summary judgment in a housing discrimination case
  • Won an anti-SLAPP motion resulting in the dismissal with prejudice of all crossclaims against real estate developer and attorneys’ fees award
  • Negotiated successful termination of recording contract representing musician with no penalties and full reversion of rights
  • Managed west coast fleet and premises liability litigation for a Fortune 200 company as part of a national fleet management engagement
  • Successful challenges to publication of copyright protected content pursuant to Digital Millennium Copyright Act for actors, sports teams, music festivals, and other creators of original creative works
  • Represented foreign witnesses to a homicide in their workplace throughout FBI and Coast Guard investigations including federal testimony preservation depositions
  • Counseled businesses on application of new privacy laws including CCPA and GDPR
  • First chair in misdemeanor battery and false imprisonment trial
  • Achieved favorable settlement in real estate partnership dispute
