Kyle Kasparek is a registered patent attorney and a senior associate in the firm’s intellectual property group. His professional experience includes managing domestic and foreign patent matters at all stages of prosecution, including preparing new utility and design applications and drafting responses to Office Actions. He has represented global industry leaders, universities, nonprofits, and startups in a variety of fields, including telecommunications, additive manufacturing, signal processing, energy production, robotics, medical and healthcare technologies, aerospace, automotive, building management, software, and security.

Kyle counsels clients regarding the development and monetization of their intellectual property portfolios. In addition to preparing and filing patent and trademark applications and responding to Office Actions, he has experience preparing claim charts that map patent claims to standards for telecommunications clients, preparing and filing ex parte reexamination and inter partes review petitions at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), conducting freedom-to-operate searches, drafting infringement opinions, preparing and filing trademark applications, filing petitions for cancellation of trademarks at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), and representing plaintiffs and defendants in litigation at U.S. district courts.

Prior to joining Munck Wilson Mandala, Kyle practiced IP law for more than a decade with a national law firm and IP boutiques.

Kyle earned his JD from Whittier Law School in 2013 (where he was a Center for IP Law fellow and member of the Moot Court Honors Board), and a BSEE from Boston University in 2008.
