Marie Gosserand is an associate in the firm’s intellectual property group. She focuses her practice on commercial transactions and intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on trademark, copyright, advertising, and brand protection. She advises clients on legal issues affecting their businesses and brands, bringing a practical, business-focused approach to helping clients identify and mitigate risk while pursuing their commercial objectives.
Marie represents clients on trademark clearance and prosecution, copyright protection, advertising and marketing initiatives, licensing, influencer agreements, nondisclosure agreements, master services agreements, software-as-a-service agreements, and statements of work. She has conducted trademark clearance searches and assessed legal risks associated with proposed product names and branding initiatives, evaluated product designs for copyright protection, and supported intellectual property enforcement and litigation matters.
In addition to her intellectual property experience, Marie advises on commercial and corporate matters, including drafting and negotiating agreements, conducting legal research and analysis, developing form agreements and internal guidance, and supporting corporate governance matters.
Marie earned her JD from Tulane University Law School, where she was a senior managing editor of the Tulane Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. She earned her BA in English and Communications, with a minor in management, from Tulane University, graduating cum laude.
