Mario J. Donato is a principal attorney in the firm’s technology/intellectual property law group.
Mario has a broad range of legal experience in intellectual property law, including domestic and international intellectual property procurement and enforcement, portfolio management, patent infringement and litigation (enforcement and defense), licensing, opinions, mergers and acquisitions involving intellectual property, as well as counseling in patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
Mario has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a wide variety of technologies, including memory devices and applications, computer architecture, semiconductors, software applications, control systems, and telecommunication systems and devices.
Prior to joining Munck Wilson Mandala, Mario was of counsel at an Austin-based IP boutique law firm. His background also includes service as director of intellectual property & licensing in the United States & Asia for STMicroelectronics, Inc., patent attorney for Motorola, Inc., and intellectual property attorney for Caterpillar, Inc. Prior to his legal career, Mario worked for several years as an electrical engineer with Hughes Aircraft Company.
