Reed Shankwiler is an associate in MWM’s award-winning litigation practice. Reed focuses his practice on intellectual property and complex litigation, managing cases from inception through trial and post-judgment proceedings.
With notable experience, Reed has advised clients through adversarial proceedings to successful outcomes. For instance, he has counseled organizations in securities fraud disputes tied to international cross-border issues, assisted in representing over 100 plaintiffs in federal courts, and has managed overseas investigators to successfully serve Defendants who were playing “hide-and-seek” with district courts. He has also represented high-profile clients in disputes involving copyright infringement, trade secrets, and software ownership, including claims related to monetizing social media platforms and protecting proprietary technology. In addition to his litigation practice, Reed has advised clients in buy/sell side M&A transactions, led due diligence, drafted purchase and sale documents, and participated in intellectual property contract negotiations.
