Munck Wilson Mandala has strengthened its patent litigation team with new partner Jared Hoggan. Hoggan brings 14 years of legal experience as an accomplished patent litigator and former engineer. He represents clients in a variety of technologies, including wireless telecommunications, automotive, biotech, internet, medical devices, software, semiconductors, and consumer products. Hoggan was previously a partner at Gray Reed in Dallas, leading the intellectual property transactions practice.
Hoggan is highly respected in the intellectual property legal community. He handles complex patent litigation and licensing issues for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to tech startups and universities. Among his significant trial wins, Hoggan was a member of the litigation team that secured a $506 million verdict in a patent infringement case against Apple. His impressive list of successes includes representing clients in patent infringement disputes related to cellular telecommunication technologies, wireless internet technologies, and medical device manufacturers. In addition to patent infringement disputes, Hoggan has served as the legal adviser in various multimillion-dollar technology transactions.
A large portion of Hoggan’s practice focuses on resolving validity, infringement, and licensing issues for clients in standards-based technologies such as wireless mobile communication. Hoggan’s knowledge of standard essential patents makes him an outstanding addition to MWM’s IP team and the firm’s reputable SEP practice.

Hoggan received his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University. After his first year in private practice, Hoggan was a judicial clerk for the Honorable Kimberly Moore of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Hoggan is listed annually as a Best Lawyer in America in patent litigation. He is also a Barrister of the Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn American Inn of Court, a member of the Federal Bar Association, and a member of the Dallas Bar Association IP section.
