Dallas, TX, Jul. 10, 2017 —– Law Firm Munck Wilson Mandala welcomes seven attorneys, including partners Gregory Howison, John Arnott, and Brian Walker from intellectual property boutique Howison and Arnott, L.L.P.  In addition to the three new partners, the firm added senior counsels Andrew Graham, Edward Jorgenson, and Steven Greenfield, and associate Keith Harden.  The new attorneys will work in Munck Wilson’s technology/intellectual property law practice, bringing the total number of registered patent attorneys at the firm to 27, and the combined total years of technical and IP legal experience to over 500, or half a millennium.

“Greg and I have been friends for nearly 25 years.  We connected through the legal community in the early 1990s,” said managing partner William A. Howison has over 35 years of IP law experience with a background working as a design engineer in high frequency communications, digital and analog design with Westinghouse, Texas Instruments and Rockwell International before entering law school.  He established his law firm in 1999 and served as a consultant to companies involved in patent licensing in the U.S., Japan and China.  He has prepared over 1,000 patents in his legal career and concentrates his practice in the software, telecommunications, semiconductor and E-commerce industries.  He received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Arnott has more than 23 years of IP law experience in patent and trademark law representing clients in aircraft, automotive systems, automation equipment, sports equipment and E-commerce.  He previously chaired the trademark practice at Howison and Arnott and has a wide variety of experience representing clients with brand identity, development and protection.  Arnott serves as a consultant to companies involved in patent licensing in the U.S., Japan and China.  He received his J.D. from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and holds a master’s in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Walker has 26 years of IP law experience and focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in telecommunication, electrical and software-related technologies.  He previously worked in the IP section of a regional law firm and he has secured domestic and international patent coverage for several Fortune 500 companies.  He received his J.D. from the Texas Tech University School of Law.

Graham will be working in Munck Wilson Mandala’s Austin office.  He has 22 years of IP law experience and represents clients in patent acquisition, preparation and filing and prosecution of patent applications.  Graham worked as a design engineer in the semiconductor industry and co-founded Gazelle Microcircuits, a venture-backed semiconductor company prior to working at a law firm he co-founded, Zagorin O’Brien Graham LLP.  He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.

Jorgenson has 29 years of IP law experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications for chemical and computer related inventions, including mail sorting equipment, polymers, orthodontic devices, and electro-optical connectors.  Prior to his legal career, Jorgenson was employed as an engineer for a steel company and he served in the United States Air Force.  He received his J.D. from the John Marshall Law School, in Chicago, Illinois.

Greenfield has 25 years of IP law experience representing clients in the telecommunication, medical equipment, illumination, air purification and internet connected technologies. He works closely with inventors, engineers, scientists and technology startup companies, helping them protect their technologies, brands and investments.   Prior to his legal career, Greenfield worked as a systems and circuit design engineer for Chrysler Technologies Airborne Systems, Inc.  He received his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Harden brings three years of IP law experience in patent and trademark preparation and prosecution in computer hardware and software, communication systems, E-commerce, sports equipment and other technology areas.  He received his J.D. from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law where he was the technology director for the SMU Science and Technology Law Review.

With these seven new attorneys, Munck Wilson Mandala’s technology/intellectual property law practice is now one of the largest IP practices in North Texas with over 30 STEM degrees in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and computer science, including master’s degrees in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science.  The firm also has language fluency in Korean, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, Farsi, German, Italian and French.
